How do I download an item on Envato Elements?
To complete a download on Envato Elements, follow these step-by-step instructions:
- Use the search bar or category browsing filters to find the creative item you want.
- Click on the item tile to open its dedicated item page.
- Click the Download button. Alternatively, you can download assets directly from your active search results or inside a custom Workspace by clicking the Download icon on an individual asset card.
- Your item will process and license automatically. A success confirmation bar will pop up at the bottom of your browser screen once the download and layout licensing are complete.
Hint: We highly recommend downloading assets at the exact moment you are ready to commit them to an active design. This ensures your legal license certificates remain correctly associated with the proper project from the very start.
How do I choose which format to download?
For specific file types — such as video elements and animated motion graphics — Envato Elements gives you the option to choose your preferred file format before saving. Only select and download the exact format your current software environment requires to preserve your local storage space and save bandwidth.
Format selection dropdown variations are available where applicable and will present themselves in a prompt window immediately before your package download initiates.
How do I access my previous downloads on Envato Elements?
Every historical asset you have successfully secured with your current Envato Elements subscription is securely saved on your personal dashboard profile.
To open and view your historical archive:
- Click your account name profile icon situated in the bottom-left corner.
- Select My Downloads directly from the pop-up options menu.
- Our system will open your full dashboard download history panel. From this interface, you can quickly retrieve previously used items and download their corresponding license certificates.
How do I re-download an item I have already licensed?
To quickly grab a fresh copy of a file you have previously added to a project:
- Navigate directly to your dedicated My Downloads index page.
- Locate the target file item from your chronological list view.
- Click the Download button located right next to the item name.
- Select the existing project folder you want to link this request to, or choose to create an entirely new project workspace. Click License & Download to pull down the file pack.
Re-download options remain fully operational for any items you have historically assigned a project license. Please note that each unique project allocation generates an independent license track for that specific use case.
Can I re-download items after my Envato Elements subscription expires?
No. You must maintain a fully active subscription plan to clear new downloads, re-download your existing history, or pull down official author updates. The moment your billing subscription expires, your account loses the ability to trigger fresh file downloads or re-download items out of your past dashboard history.
Assets that you have downloaded and successfully associated with a project project maintain their lifetime commercial license terms even after a subscription ends — allowing you to continue using those specific resources within those existing project frameworks. However, you cannot access newer software versions or updates without renewing your subscription access.
