There are three reasons you may need to report an item on Envato Elements: the item has a technical issue or is not working as described, the item is inappropriate or violates Envato's content policies, or the item infringes on your copyright or intellectual property. Each situation has a different reporting path, described below.
Please note: Envato does not provide technical support for individual items. If you are having trouble using or installing an item — rather than reporting a fault with the item itself — see Item Support for guidance on what support options are available.
How to report a broken or faulty Envato item
If you believe an item is broken, behaves differently from how it is described on the item page, or is not functioning correctly through no fault of how you are using it, you can report it directly to the Envato team.
To report a broken or faulty item:
- Include the item name, a link to the item page, and a clear description of the fault or issue.
- If possible, include screenshots or screencasts that illustrate the problem.
- Submit your report.
Envato reviews all reports and takes appropriate action where an item is confirmed to have a fault or does not meet the platform's quality standards.
How to report an inappropriate item on Envato Elements
If you believe an item violates Envato's content policies — for example, it contains offensive, harmful, or otherwise inappropriate content — you can report it using the same Envato Elements Contact form. Describe the nature of the concern clearly in your report.
How to report copyright or intellectual property infringement on Envato
If you believe an item on Envato Elements infringes on your copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights, Envato has a dedicated process for handling IP claims.
For full information on how to submit an intellectual property complaint, see the Envato Elements Intellectual Property Policy.
What happens after I report an item?
Envato reviews all submitted reports. Where an item is confirmed to be faulty, inappropriate, or in violation of Envato's policies, Envato will take appropriate action, which may include removing or updating the item.
Frequently asked questions
-
Can I report an Envato item that is not working?
Yes. If an item appears to be broken or does not behave as described — and the issue is not related to how you are using it — you can report it to Envato. Include the item name, a link to the item page, and a description of the fault.
-
Can I report an Envato item for copyright infringement?
Yes. If you believe an item on Envato Elements infringes on your copyright or intellectual property, refer to the Envato Elements Intellectual Property Policy for the full submission process.
-
Will Envato provide technical support if I report a broken item?
No. Envato does not provide technical support for individual items. Reporting a broken item notifies Envato of a potential content quality issue, which Envato will investigate. It does not result in personalised technical assistance. For more information see Item Support.
-
What is the difference between reporting an item and getting item support?
Reporting an item tells Envato there may be a quality, content, or IP problem with the item itself — something that affects all users of that item. Item support is about getting help with how to use, install, or customise an item for your own project. Envato does not provide item support directly; see Item Support for more information.
