Envato's AI tools work alongside the stock catalog so you can find, generate, and refine assets in one workflow. Every AI-generated asset carries the same commercial license as stock downloads. Your AI credit balance resets at the start of each subscription month, and limits vary by plan tier:

How billing and access work
An active subscription is required to use any downloaded or generated items. Subscriptions bill in advance — monthly or annually — and auto-renew on the date you first subscribed. You can cancel anytime, but access to downloaded items requires an active plan.

AI Credits are used each time you click a Generate ✨ button in any Envato Gen AI tool. Not all AI tools cost the same; the credit count differs depending on which AI tool you are using, what type of content you are creating, or which settings and inputs you use.

What happens when I run out of AI credits?

Licensing

What license covers my downloads and AI content?
All Stock Catalog items downloaded from Envato are covered by a simple commercial license: the Envato Elements License. Content generated using Envato's AI tools — including images, videos, music, voiceovers, sound effects, and graphics — is governed by the AI Tools Terms, which are applied at the point of generation.

Does the license expire if I cancel?
No — the commercial license is lifetime. Previously downloaded or generated assets stay licensed even after cancellation.

Does Envato Elements offer API access?
No. Envato Elements doesn't offer public API access — there's no API for searching, browsing, downloading, or bulk-licensing Stock Catalog assets, and this applies to every plan type, including Enterprise.
You may be thinking of the Envato Market API — that's a separate API for the Envato Market platform (ThemeForest, CodeCanyon, and related sites), used by authors and buyers for things like item metadata and purchase code verification. It isn't connected to Envato Elements and doesn't provide access to photos, videos, or any other Stock Catalog downloads. Accessing Envato Elements assets programmatically — through scripts, bots, or any automated tool outside the Envato Elements website or an authorized app — isn't permitted under the Envato Elements User Terms.
