Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a tax imposed by the Indian Government on sales of certain goods and services purchased by Indian resident private individuals. These services extend to online information database access and retrieval services (OIDAR) provided by non-residents such as Envato.
Envato Elements is now registered for GST in India and will charge GST on subscriptions taken out by private individuals resident in India with effect from 12th July 2021.

What rate of tax is applied to the subscription?
The rate of tax applied to your subscription will be a flat rate of 18%.
What if I am registered for GST in India?
GST is only applicable to private individuals (non-taxable online recipients) located in India. If you are registered for GST in India, please update your billing/tax information to record your GSTIN. If you do not provide a GSTIN, GST will apply to your initial subscription and all subsequent renewals.
Envato will issue Indian customers with GST invoices to ensure that they can declare the purchase on their GST return.
Where to find invoices?
A record of the GST that has been collected can be found on your monthly or annual invoices or can be viewed on your “My Account” page after 12th July 2021.
