What does this mean for me?
Subscribers in the EU who do not have a valid VAT number will see a Value Added Tax (VAT) charge in their recurring Envato Elements billing with a rate depending on the country of residence.
For example, if you are located in France and currently pay $39 per month for your subscription, the total invoiced amount will increase to $46.80 representing $7.80 of FR VAT 20%.
The price adjustment to include VAT will happen automatically based on the billing details you provided when you completed or updated your subscription details.
If you have a valid VAT number, and you provide it before the payment completion, no EU VAT will be added to your purchase price and your EU VAT will appear on your invoice.
FAQ for subscribers located in the EU
Is there a flat rate for all EU countries?
No, the rate will depend on the country you reside in. You can read more on the official EU website: VAT rules and rates.

A record of the VAT that has been collected can be found on your monthly or annual invoices and can be viewed on your My Account page. All additional information regarding invoices can be found in the View & download invoices article.

Why Envato’s VAT is not VIES verifiable?
Envato is registered for the VAT Non-Union scheme under the One Stop Shop (OSS).
Under the non-Union scheme, VAT numbers issued to non-EU companies like Envato (Australia) with an EU prefix cannot be checked against the European Commission’s VIES VAT number validation database. To verify the VAT number, you'll need to contact the Tax Authority where our VAT OSS is located, which is the Revenue Commissioner in Ireland.
You can find Envato’s VAT number on your Envato Elements subscription invoice.
