Envato Elements in registered for VAT in Mexico and will charge VAT to subscribers residing in Mexico effective from the 20th of February, 2024.
What does this mean for me?
Subscribers in Mexico will see a change in their recurring Envato Elements billing to include Value Added Tax (VAT) of 16%.
For example, if you currently pay $33 per month for your subscription, the total invoiced amount will increase to $38.28 representing $5.28 of VAT that Envato Elements will pay to the Servicio de Administracion Tributaria.
The price adjustment to include VAT will happen automatically based on the billing details you provided when you completed or updated your subscription details.
What do I need to do?
To comply with the VAT rules and regulations, please make sure that your billing information is correct (find instructions on how to do this here).
If you have a Registro Federal de Contibuyentes (RFC), please update your billing/tax information to include it (find instructions on how to do this here).
Your billing details will appear on invoices, and invoices must include a Registro Federal de Contibuyentes. If you do not provide a RFC, then the default 'General Public' RFC ('XAXX010101000') will be saved with your billing information. You can change this at any time, but changes will only apply from your next invoice onwards.
