United Arab Emirates - VAT information for Envato Elements subscribers
Envato Elements is now registered for VAT in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and will charge VAT to subscribers residing in UAE effective from 1st September 2023.
What does this mean for me?
Subscribers from the UAE will see a change in their recurring Envato Elements billing to include Value Added Tax (VAT) of 5%. For example, if you currently pay $33 per month for your subscription, the total invoiced amount will increase to $34.65, representing $1.65 of VAT paid to the UAE Government. This price adjustment to include VAT will happen automatically based on the billing details you provided when you completed or updated your subscription details.
What do I need to do?
To ensure that your invoices are VAT compliant, you must make sure that your billing information is correct (find instructions on how to do this here) and include your UAE State of residence. The UAE Federal Tax Authority requires that your Emirate/State information be collected for VAT compliance and reporting purposes. This information will be shown on your invoices. Note: changes have been made to our billing details page so you can add a State from an approved list.
FAQ for subscribers located in UAE

What if I am registered for VAT in UAE?
If you are registered for VAT in UAE, please update your billing/tax information to record your Tax Registration Number (TRN). If you do not provide a TRN, VAT will apply to your subscription.
Please note that you are liable to self-account for VAT under a reverse charge in your VAT return if you indicate you are a VAT registered customer.
